Joseph Octavious is originally from Liberia. He immigrated to Canada in 2007. After spending two years in Brooks, he moved to Newfoundland to enroll in Memorial University, where he recently graduated with a Bachelors degree and a postgraduate certificate. He is an active member in the Liberian and the African community in both Brooks and Newfoundland. He feels passionate about helping youth and showing them that if they work hard, they can do whatever they desire to do. His life story is evidence of this. As a Youth Worker, he is not only committed to providing youth with quality mentorship, employment opportunities, as well as a host of creative or recreational activities; he is also committed to building supportive relationships to help them feel like an important part of their community. Joseph believes this is the most exciting job at BCIS.
